Description The French company Hélicoptères Guimbal was founded in October 2000. Its activities are based on the technology demonstrator created by Bruno Guimbal (a former Eurocopter helicopter engineer) in the 90s. The company’s sole product is the lightweight, two seater Cabri G2.

The main structure is made entirely out of carbon fibre composites. Remarkable are the fenestron anti-torque device and the many safety measures like the energy absorbing structure and the crashworthy seats and fuel tank, to name just a few. The Cabri G2 helis are mainly used for training purposes.

The model name Cabri is an acronym (Comfort in Autorotation Belongs to Rotor Inertia). It is also the French name for a little goat, which refers to the small size and steep climbing performance of the Cabri G2.

The Cabri G2 model received its EASA type certification in December 2007. In June 2006, the first Cabri orders had already been placed. At the time of writing (2014), Hélicoptères Guimbal had sold over 50 units.
