1935 - First Practical Helicopter (Louis Breguet and Rene Dorand)
This helicopter is commonly considered to be the first practical helicopter. It used both flap and lag hinges. The blades were tapered and resembled
modern blade design. The co-axial helicopter had yaw control (by allowing pitch difference between the two rotors). The blades were controlled in cyclic
pitch by using a swash plate design. It held the duration record of 42 minutes, and a distance record of 27 miles (44 km).
