1936 - Succesful Dual Rotor Helicopter (Focke-Wulf & Gert Achgelis)

The Fa-61 helicopter was constructed with two, side by side, rotors. The (small) propeller was used for engine cooling purposes only. It flew in Germany and was highly succesful. It was powered by a 160-hp Bramo Sh 14A radial engine, and was the first manned helicopter in aviation history to demonstrate an engine off landing using autorotation.
